I created this for my Visual Communications class, where I was tasked to choose three novels and create a magazine spread for each of them. These designs had to reflect the mood and themes of the novels. For this one, I chose The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
The main image and the title extends across both pages to give a sense of expansion and vastness; this is fitting because the novel is about a grand adventure that follows Bilbo Baggins and his dwarven company traversing across the land.
The content on the right side is contained in a semi-transparent container to separate it from the background.
